“You can’t fill a hole with anger, only with love.” That moment sparked a decision that changed his life — he would adopt a child who needed love, just as he did. At the adoption center, David was offered a two-year-old boy named Sam, who had Down syndrome and had already been through three foster homes. Without hesitation, David said yes.
“I’ll take the child who needs me the most,” he told the social worker.
From the moment they met, David fell in love with Sam. He was a bright, sweet, and joyful little boy. Though he had some health issues and reached milestones more slowly, to David, he was perfect.
