Confused, I stood up, holding the locket tightly in my hand. I thought about what to do next. Should I try to follow them? Should I go inside and forget this strange encounter? But something in me, something primal, told me to pay attention. I couldn’t explain it, but the idea of simply walking away didn’t feel right.
I called out, “Hey, are you… are you trying to tell me something?”
